Hmmm...
Embarrassing moment I must admit. Lucky for me I didn't scream, cry or wail. That would have made it worse. I just got up - in shock of course, said "Aneh. Tissue please" and excused myself. What happened was, my friends and I were sitting downstairs at the mamak. Zai ordered a chicken rice set that came with a drink. Now, down at the mamak there are these huge industrial like fans and unfortunately for me, the strong breeze flipped a menu on the table and hit the glass of sirap limau ice which hence spilt all over me. And guess what? I was wearing light khaki pants. Ya... pretty bad.
I love Fridays... It's my relax day =)
Had another embarrassing moment earlier this week. Okay, there's this guy on campus - pretty cute and caught Zai and I's attention cuz of his funky hair style. Last semester we used to trade smiles and giggles every time we walked pass (lame I know) and we'd occasionally wave to one another. Anyways... it just stayed that way. Harmless little thing. So this semester Kitty (a nickname we bestowed upon him cuz of the mentioned hairstyle) came back semi bald! Haha. Still looks cute girls. Anyhow, we've never introduced ourselves so this semester, my dear Lily of a friend decided she'd break the ice. So she calls me and...
Lily - "Hi Raya. What are you doing?"
Raya - "Hi Lily. Just got back. Why?"
Lily - "Ey Raya, hold on ah there's this guy who wants to talk to you"
Raya - "Huh? What guy?? Oh man...."
Stranger - "Uh... Hello?"
Raya - *confused* "Hello? Hi who's this?"
Stranger - "Hi. I'm Chris"
Raya - "Oh my God *laughs*"
And I won't continue the rest cause it was so blinking weird! Awkward moment...Thanks Lily. Thank You. Really. Thank You... Apa aje...
Ya. So Kitty (real name Chris) sounded pretty nice. Can't say more until I get to know him.
Got introduced to another guy (again) by my senior/friend, just yesterday in fact and I would have never guessed who he was in a million years. Turns out that Shirena's younger brother, Zain, is doing his degree in Journalism at Taylor's. Ah... Small world hey?
Anyways... enough of all the 'who I've been introduced to this week'. Assignments are starting to pile up once again. Lots of work to do. Much progress on my charity work project. Went to the General Hospital down town to check out the paediatric ward and boy... it's pretty depressing. Most of the patients are babies and toddlers suffering from severe complications. They're on hold for operations due to the fact that they are too young and too small to undergo any form of surgery. Was pretty upsetting.
We went to visit the Neurology ward too which was far much worse off then the paediatric ward. Patients varied from all ages and the ward itself was stuffy, packed with visitors and patients, dilapidated, hot and uncomfortable. It needs a major revamp.
To round up our visit, I decided to take the rest of my group members to visit the mental ward which was rather amusing. It was the men's mental ward and haha loadsa funny stuff happened. Zai was quite the hit amongst us girls. But anyways, it's great to visit these people. They don't care who you are, what you do, they don't judge you and they're very friendly. We only stayed for about 10 minutes. The patients were kind enough to take us on a tour around their ward and one of them even gave us his email address! (Zai did you try email-ing him??)
After our visit we walked to the chow kit mono station and took the monorail (precarious shit) back to KL Sentral. On our way to the station it was raining and all of us got wet! Haha. Was pretty fun though. It's been ages since I last walked in the rain!
Speaking of rain, it's been raining nicely in the evenings and at night. Mmm I like =)
The Zapin workshop by Abang Aris at KLPAC was sooo much fun! I had such a great time! We actually learned a whole Zapin dance, its history and origin and all the itty gritty stuff about it. I really do miss doing traditional Malay folk dances. I'd love to learn more about it. Time however, is not really on my side. Soon soon. After my diploma I hope.
Will be having a break from dancing over the next 2 weeks. Dancesteps will be closed for the summer holidays! Yay! Gonna make an appointment for a full body massage and give my body a rest. It's long due.
