I had such a wonderful Merdeka this year! Lucky Me =) Happy Independence Day everyone! It’s an official 48 years of Independence. Mari kita semua berusaha untuk kemajuan Negara… Haha… Hokay
Let's see, Merdeka Eve started out with Pa not feeling well. Spent the morning and afternoon taking care of him. Poor daddy - hopefully the trip to Pangkor this weekend will help him relax and get well soon. Aah Pangkor - Escapism awaits…
Coming back to Merdeka Eve, surprised (well, somewhat lah) Zain in the evening when I dropped by his place to wake him up from his deep slumber (dragons...) We both had dinner at the Marché Movenpick at The Curve. Mmm dinner was yummay! We had quite a bit to eat till there was no room for dessert. Hehe – next time yang! Waffles with ice cream… Ooooh…
We had a pretty good time over at dinner. Zain loved the restaurant – it wasn’t very packed considering that it was Merdeka Eve. Think everyone headed down town for most of the fun and action – somehow though, this year, I didn’t really feel the Merdeka spirit. Hmmm…
Walked around the open streets of The Curve after dinner. It was real nice being in each other’s arms, listening to the live band churning Latin hits, watching a bunch of old ladies trying to Salsa, enjoying the evening breeze… It was real nice. I had such a wonderful time.

The Dragon & The Phoenix on Merdeka Eve
Went back to the dragon’s lair after dinner at the Marché and just before midnight, Zain took me to the hills nearby his place in Bangsar to watch the fireworks. Jalan Bangkung to be more specific. Lot’s of people headed out to the hilltops in Bangsar for the view. The first display came from Bintang Walk if I’m not mistaken, followed by Dataran Merdeka and then KLCC. Aah can imagine the crowd and intensity of those areas. Fireworks lasted for about a good 15 minutes before everyone got back into their cars and headed off. Mmm, was pretty fun watching the fireworks from afar this time around with the dragon by my side.

At his place
After fireworks, it was off to the Phoenix’s nest (ahh doesn’t sound very nice) Okay, went back to my cirb where Zain had his endless top up of Ice Cream Soda and spent the rest of the night cuddling and watching Mr & Mrs Smith. It’s such a good movie. I can watch it over and over again and not get sick of it. Angelina and Brad really have this strong chemistry with one another. I say they make a great couple compared to Jen and Brad. Ah Tomato, Tomato.
Had to wake up early this morning to take my parents out so couldn’t really sleep in. Am still exhausted from all of yesterday’s activities. Went to KLCC again and later in the evening dropped by to see Zain and spend some time with him. Just got back from dinner at Bayou, Mont Kiara with family, my aunt and cousin’s – Julie and Rizal. Yep yep yep, food was good. Mmm so am all stuffed now and ready to hit the sack. Good Night
