Jaeger-Le Coultre

Do you know what's actually really interesting?

Being painted in silver, wearing a fitting cat suit with a RM48,000 designer watch on your wrist (and flaunting it to high society) and dancing in 4-inch knee-high boots on a 5 feet high (2 feet wide) marble bar/podium.

Yea it was really interesting. And I must admit, a little tacky too. Not too tacky though. Well that's commercial dancing I suppose.

So all this was for the launch of a new range of Titanium watches for men by Jaeger-Le Coultre at Cynna Bar downtown last week. The cheapest watch that night was RM48,000 (ahem, and mind you, that was after a RM2,000 discount for the night) and the most expensive was RM98,000 - RM108,000.

Yea I know, that's a lot of zero's...

And it's friggin' heavy bling too...

I had a pretty good time modeling and dancing that night. It's very much different from the line of dancing I'm used to doing which leans more towards theater and arts. Costumes are different (more showy), hair and make up too (again, more showy) and well, the dancing. Nothing technical. Straight forward simple (but strong) and easy to remember steps. Plus, pretty good (and super fast) pay for a short period. Good money for the pocket.

The theme that night was of course, Titanium. So everything was chromed and laced in silver which was pretty cool. We had 4 sets to do, the first was the launch itself after the speeches. 5 of us girls had to parade around with the watches and show them off in a dance-y way which was again very interesting. Haha I enjoyed seeing all the heads follow the movement of my wrist and all the camera flashes going off from all different media houses (heh nak glamour ;)).

The second set was the podium dancing. It wasn't the whole, get up there, dance aimlessly like a whore that needs to pay the rent to Pak Abu the next day. No no. I wouldn't have done that. It was a fixed routine (like I said nothing tacky) that was for about 10 minutes with some freestyle.

Goodness, podium dancing is soooo nost easy. Especially when one has to dance in boots-to-kill on marble, 5 feet above the ground. The podium was in an 'S' shape and there were 2 dancers on each podium at different ends. Now it was only about 2 feet wide which made it pretty scary. The helicopter and strobe lights didn't help much either. Its hard to balance especially when turning your head. BUT... it's sooo fun! Haha... Chaaayyy I tengah syokkan diri lah :D

Argh! and guess who was there sitting in front of me while I was up there doing "ma thang"... cikgu dearest Linda Jasmine (>_<)

I hope whatever it is she didn't recognize me! Haha

Anyways, I think the tackiest part of the whole event was dancing (slow hand and body movements) by the showcase . Ya... that was pretty much tacky in every sense of the word. My mother would use her famous phrase lah... "Lucah betul...".

BUT you gotta make the best of the situation right. Even though the dancing had no asses going ba-bum-ba-bum-bum it was just tacky in the sense that each showcase was placed in couch areas and corners surrounded and filled with men going nyum nyum nyum nyum.

After that, it was freestyle dancing with this singer that sang to beats churned out by the DJ and just nari nari, action-action dan syokkan diri lah

Hmm, there were quite a few pretty hot guys too ;) and ooh, free flow of red wine!

At the end of the day I had a great time. I wouldn't mind doing commercial dances once in a while. Why not kan if its good pay? Plus you can pick and choose and not all commercial dancing is tacky. Kena pandai pandai jugak ah...

The one on my wrist was RM48,000

Looking a little bit like an alien
like Ari says haha

I loved the hair and make up done that night. Hano (the other malay girl) and I looked pretty dark cuz of the foundation that was used on us. The make up artist wanted the silver to really strike out so he used foundation that was about 2 tones darker from our original skin colour.

BUT, it took forever to remove the silver from my hair. It was 2am, I was dead tired from dancing my ass off (ooh and commercial dancing is not for like 5 minutes then dah. It's for about 20 minutes each session and as Ann says, must be STRONG, full of Energy and Non Stop!) So there I was, at 2am, dalam my jamban, tengah mandi like cam s'tengah mampus till I had to get a stool and SIT DOWN to mandi. Hahaha. It took about half an hour k! Jangan main main... Haha

Next day, my body was aching from head to toe... I had koyok tampal'd all over my back and lucky me there was no college on Friday :D

Speaking of college, my mid-week holiday is now extended to Tuesday's! So Tuesday's and Wednesday's are off days. College's only on for 3 days in a week - Monday, Thursday & Friday!

College's been alright so far. I'm only enjoying Islamic Studies and Project (a subject where my PR group have to organize a social campaign - we're doing the environment). Econs is complete alien to me! Whatever it is, I hope I freakin pass it!

I had breakfast with Matt this morning and said Hi to ma and pa. That was very nice.

Let's have more Nasi Lemak! :D
